Organization Description
The Sunshine Initiative (TSI) is a Washington, DC-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit advancing housing stability, economic mobility, and long-term self-sufficiency for low-income families, single-parent households, and youth transitioning out of foster care.
TSI addresses critical barriers including housing instability, food insecurity, and limited access to economic opportunity through comprehensive, wraparound services. Our programs include eviction prevention, rental and transitional housing support, access to nutritious food, workforce readiness, financial literacy, and youth leadership development.
Through data-informed, outcomes-driven programming, TSI works to reduce homelessness, prevent displacement, increase income stability, and equip individuals and families with the tools needed to achieve sustainable independence and improved quality of life.
By strengthening protective factors and removing systemic barriers, TSI is committed to creating measurable, lasting change across the communities we serve.
